The torritsts were able, however, to kill 13 of the SWAT team members sent in to take control of the situation. The backlash of the event saw many innocent Islamic-Americans lynched, particularly in the south. In respose to the attack, the US government invaded Iran, Pakistan, and Egypt all suspected hideouts of the terrorist group.
